Mumbai: The Indian Softball Cricket League (ISCL) is gearing up for its second season, aiming to provide a national platform for emerging cricketing talent from neighbourhoods and local communities. The league marked a major milestone with the grand unveiling of the official jerseys of Mumbai Royals and Maharashtra Super Strikers in the presence of former Sri Lankan captain and legendary all-rounder Sanath Jayasuriya.

The event in Mumbai brought together prominent personalities from cricket, entertainment, corporate circles and public life. Mumbai Royals owner Girish Gowda and Maharashtra Super Strikers owner Saurabh Dhanuka are preparing to establish strong identities for their respective franchises ahead of the upcoming season.

Jayasuriya was the key attraction at the ceremony. The event was led by ISCL Founder and President Dr Gangadhar Raju and Chairman B. H. Anil Kumar. Former Jalgaon Mayor Lalit Kolhe attended as a special guest.

Anil Kumar described the jersey unveiling as an important step towards the league’s second season. He said ISCL aims to build a sustainable platform for softball cricket through dedicated franchises, organised opportunities and player development.

Dr Gangadhar Raju said the league was established to identify hidden cricketing talent in local communities and provide aspiring players with a recognised competitive platform. He expressed confidence that the support of franchise owners and partner organisations would help ISCL build a distinct identity among players and cricket enthusiasts.

Girish Gowda said Mumbai Royals would represent the city’s rich cricketing culture, energy and fighting spirit, adding that the franchise would focus on building a strong team identity and encouraging players to perform with confidence.

Saurabh Dhanuka said Maharashtra Super Strikers would showcase the state’s passion for cricket and sporting spirit, while working to build a strong connection with players and supporters.
